Wild Line Films Announces “The Kings of the Corner”
Seeks Community Support to Make Film.

Portland, OR - May 26, 2007 – Wild Line Films and director Jeff McDaniel today announced production on their new documentary entitled “The Kings of the Corner” (working title). The film takes a close look into homelessness in America from the view of the people on the streets living it every day, starting in Portland. Filming has begun and the filmmakers need the community to help them get this film made.

Wild Line Films seeks to gather community support through donations to keep the project alive. The films director, Jeff McDaniel, who was out-sourced from his job at a Hillsboro, Oregon software company in 2008, has been looking for work since but with the current state of the economy this has been a challenge.

“I realized I need to make this film now; the issue seems to have a distinct pertinence,” said McDaniel, “Making films is my passion and my goal for a career, but it takes a lot of time and money. The time I have, but I have so much passion for this film that I would fund it myself if I had the money. But I don’t. This film deals with an important community issue; I need help from the community to keep this going.”

McDaniel pays each participant a small sum, out of his own pocket, to share their story, “but it’s only enough to buy a couple of days worth of food”. However, there’s a unique twist to the story. Wild Line Films is giving back to the homeless participants that help make the film, 50% of all profits realized upon completion and (hopefully) distribution.

“I always tell the participants this could be nothing or it could be something and all of the participants so far have been very excited about the project.”

Donations can be made on Wild Line Films website www.wildlinefilms.com, where you can also view a teaser of the film. Wild Line Films will also be placing a section on their site where people can donate care packages that Wild Line Films puts together and hands out to homeless individuals as production continues on the film.

“If we could just get people to donate a dollar or two at a time, this film will be a success and by donating to the Kings project you can help get their story out and possibly because of the unique structure of the project help them find their off the streets.”
